In a unique and unprecedented portrayal of the martial art, Dr Madhu paints Karate on a bigger canvas by extending it beyond the articulate offensive and defensive manoeuvres. She is a pioneer of a comprehensive unarmed combat system designed exclusively for the protection of women and children. Her application entails early warning appraisals using body language readings of potential offenders, laced with teachings about time and space precautions for intuitive avoidance of likely ambush sites that may have been chosen by the offenders. Techniques for negotiating through zones of vulnerability have been duly incorporated. In her teachings, women and children are to go through a series of presentations, lectures demonstrations, mock drills and tests that have a striking resemblance with military training. It is a fusion of the martial art of Karate, Psychology, body language and time and
space assessments coupled with technology to avert crimes against women and children. In a nutshell, it is the mechanics of the gut feeling of a woman coupled with the legacy of traditional Shotokan Karate.
